An international opportunity

Our university is well known outside Sweden, and attracts many talented students from all over the world. I’m very proud of our student representatives who also make Lund University known on different occasions, as was the case at the Universitas 21 Student Leaders’ Network meeting, held at the National University of Singapore from 26 February to 1 March 2015. At the meeting the vice-president of Lund University Students’ Unions (LUS) Sebastian Persson and Hanna Stenfelt, student representative, succeeded in getting our students’ unions elected as vice-presidents of the U21 Student Leaders’ Network (SLN). Congratulations to LUS! I am sure that your participation at the Annual Network Meeting at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in Santiago de Chile in May will contribute fruitfully to the SLN and help the network take new steps to enhance student experiences in a globalized world!

Finally, I would like to encourage an enthusiastic person, preferably with a PhD, to join the secretariat of Universitas 21, taking over the position of manager for the Researcher Engagement cluster. The manager works closely with the U21 secretariat based in Birmingham, reporting to the secretary general there, but will also be in touch with me as Executive Director. The position can be based anywhere within the member universities of U21. For more details see the U21 website!
